This medicine can be used by adults and children of 10 years and over. However, some people should not use this medicine or should seek the advice of their pharmacist or doctor first.

Apply to the skin only. Do not apply plasters or dressings over the cream. Do not use on children under 10 years, unless your doctor tells you to. Do not use more than the amount recommended. Do not use this medicine for more than 7 days. If symptoms worsen or do not go away within 7 days, talk to your doctor. If anyone accidentally swallows some of the cream, rinse out the mouth and talk to a pharmacist or doctor.

4.Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. If you get any of these serious side effects, stop using the cream. See a doctor at once if severe:

  • Difficulty in breathing, swelling of the face, neck, tongue or throat (severe allergic reactions)
  • Skin rash, red or itchy skin, worsening of the condition you are treating
  • Steroid withdrawal reaction: If used over prolonged periods a withdrawal reaction, which might appear to be different from the previous condition, may occur in some patients during treatment or within days to weeks after stopping treatment with some or all of the following features: redness of the skin which can extend beyond the initial area treated, a burning or stinging sensation, intense itching, peeling of the skin, oozing open sores. These other effects are less serious. If they bother you talk to a pharmacist:
  • Stretch marks or streaks on the skin especially in skin folds (e.g. groin, armpits)

How to store it

DermaCare Cream

Do not store above 25°C. Keep this medicine in a safe place out of the sight and reach of children, preferably in a locked cupboard. Use by the date on the end flap of the carton or on the tube edge. After this date return any unused product to your nearest pharmacy for safe disposal.

What DermaCare Cream contains

This cream contains Hydrocortisone 1% w/w, which is the active ingredient. As well as the active ingredient, the cream also contains purified water, white soft paraffin, cetomacrogol emulsifying wax, liquid paraffin, macrogol 300, chlorocresol. The pack contains 15 g of smooth white cream.
